Pentangle's Bert Jansch

Legendary and godlike British guitarist, Bert Jansch has passed our world at the age of 67.. Bert’s highly influential guitar playing received high praise and critical acclaim globally. A leader of the Brit folk revival of the 60’s both as a solo artist and with his phenomenal group Pentangle, he leaves behind a vast catalog of essential and exceptional music (20+ solo albums!!!). His last studio album “The Black Swan” from 2006, featured a who’s who ofyoung contemporaries who by any measure must have been awed to be in presence. I was lucky enough to have seen Bert Jansch play several times in the late 1980’s and I can tell you, it was magical.

Below is a quote taken from The Gaurdian
*According to fellow guitarist Johnny Marr: "He completely reinvented guitar playing and set a standard that is still unequalled today … without Bert Jansch, rock music as it developed in the 60s and 70s would have been very different."
